NCHEC Can Help You Hire a CHES

Building the CHES certification into your job descriptions, and into your employment advertising, facilitates the recruitment of qualified health educators. The only requirement is that the description must indicate that a CHES is preferred or required.

A CHES is specifically trained to:

  • Assess individual, organizational and community health education needs
  • Plan, develop, implement, manage and evaluate health education programs
  • Communicate health education needs
  • Build coalitions
  • Identify resources and make referrals
  • Act as an advocate for health issues
  • Train assistants and volunteers
  • Develop and use a variety of educational methods and materials

Organizations that prefer to employ a CHES are encouraged to advertise job announcements here for a direct link to a qualified pool of professional, certified health educators.
